When Ruth was offered the opportunity to do a 200 hour teacher training course with her yoga teacher, Faye Shekhar, she jumped at the chance. As she had found that for her a yoga class was more than just stretching into weird shapes. After the class was over she was finding herself looking up different aspects of the class on the internet and could frequently hear herself repeat the words of her teacher into her home and work life as it had so much relevance. Yoga has helped Ruth to manage and improve her own personal health issues and it remains her ‘go to tonic’.
Whilst doing her yoga teacher training, Ruth could immediately see that there was a huge transferable knowledge base from yoga to her work as a Speech & Language Therapist and she started to sprinkle a little more yoga philosophy, pranayama and asana into her therapy and got great results.
This success has been the catalyst to develop specialist yoga classes and workshops that blend my clinical experience of nearly 30 years in both the NHS and private practice with my yoga knowledge.
Ruth Myers holds a regular specialist workshop Learn to Listen and Love your Voice at Same Star Yoga that is an innovative and authentic expression of both her clinical knowledge and her yoga practice.
