Learn to Listen and Love Your Voice
No two voices are the same, as our voices are as individual as our fingerprints and are part of the uniqueness of what makes you recognisable as you. We all need to rely on our voices to convey a range of important messages as well as expressions of joy and love.
I know through my work as a therapist that when your voice is impaired then this can cause feelings of frustration, vulnerability and even economic hardship. Perhaps you are needing to be economic with how you use your voice and are avoiding taking calls or conversations because your voice is unreliable or fatigued and are limiting reading to your children at night. Perhaps you are hesitant to speak in public because your voice may falter.
Voice difficulties are not profession specific and can include singers, teachers, clergy, classroom assistants, barristers, builders, call centre workers and fitness instructors.
This workshop will provide you with some underpinning knowledge of how your voice works in a holistic way. It will teach you how to recognise your own vocal health and give you tips on how to improve your individual voice through knowledge and yoga and give you more confidence in using your voice.
Please note that individual voice therapy will not be offered during this workshop and this can only be offered after an examination by an Ear Nose & Throat Consultant.
This workshop will encompass an interactive educational presentation and yoga class that is focussed upon the subtleties of the amazing gift of your voice.
It will give you more awareness of how our voices are impacted by our bodies and our lifestyles and to learn that our voices don’t just suddenly disappear and will teach you how to listen, optimise and nourish your voice. Voice exercises often involve making some odd noises and face shapes, but doing this in a group setting with my guidance is liberating, fun and supportive.
