I first qualified as a gym instructor nearly 30 years ago after falling in love with weight training and a healthy lifestyle. Qualifying enabled me to take a much deeper dive and pass on techniques to others.
After years of growing both a family and a business I decided to revisit my love of health and fitness by qualifying as a personal trainer, but with age came wisdom and I soon realised that people need a truly holistic approach to heal and grow so I added qualifications in NLP, CBT and Life Coaching.
The circle was only complete however when I discovered my own love for a spritual path and yoga practice some 10 years ago eventually leading to my first 200 hour teacher training in 2019. I now offer a full Mind, Body and Spirit experience through Holistic Mindspace where my clients can explore all aspects of themselves to live a happy and healthy life.

Gaye found her calling for yoga in Colchester where her journey began 30 years ago attending a weekly class at the adult education centre which she commited to for 15 years before studying to become a teacher. Her then teacher planted the seed telling her she should pursue teaching. A ten month foundation course in 2003 with The British Wheel of Yoga then led her to completing their 3 year Diploma in 2008. She then went on to receive her Yoga For Children Certificate in 2010 also with the BWY.
During 16 years of her teaching Gaye still remains a student with continued studying becoming a Yoga therepist in 2013 with Yogaforbacks.uk specialising in treating back conditions and is registered with backcare.org
She says ‘I have a passion for helping people relieve their back conditions and blend my back care training and tailor my teaching keeping the health of the spine a priority in all styles I teach so yoga can be experienced as a therapy not just as a form of exercise.
As the styles of Yoga ever evolving her teaching has organically grown with the changes. With her roots still set deeply in the principals and teaching Hatha, she now teaches Vinyasa, Power Yoga and the contrast that is Yin. Gaye loves to share the benefits of deep relaxation and Meditation from her own experiences of being a lifetime student of Yoga Nidra so completed her certificate in 2021 along with Yin with Yoga Alliance Professionals. In 2018 she joined Faye to obtain her Thai Yoga massage certificate.
Gaye teaches thoughtout Essex and Suffolk through her own business Buddhas & Butterflies Yoga for Men & Women and runs her ‘Down to Earth’ Yoga retreat days seasonally throughout the year. As well as traditional Hatha, threaded through Gaye’s style of teaching is also a holistic approach connecting with the elements and the seasons from Dru Yoga and blending the practice of mindfulness from Tibetan Yoga working with the mind, body, breath and spirit all connected at its deepest level. Her classes are a balanced combination of fun and energy, and contrasting peace and relaxation, catering for all different personalities. She combines her knowledge of anatomy within her teaching being sensitive to her students needs and encourages them to do what they can for their own mobility.
Aislinn came to yoga as a way to keep active after a career in dance and circus. She fell in love with the practice and it has been a steady and unwavering support throughout her life since. She teaches with compassion and warmth, and is inspired to make yoga accessible to everyone regardless of experience. Her classes are mindful with a strong focus on breath and internal awareness. “I teach so that students can uncover a sense of clarity and space within themselves”.
Since becoming a Mother Aislinn’s passion is to work in pregnancy and postnatal yoga, not just through teaching yoga, but to create a community where women can connect and support one another. New parenthood is a challenging and isolating time that requires a new kind of village.
Aislinn completed her first 350hr teacher training in Brisbane with YIMI – Yoga and Integrative Medicine Institute in 2014, attracted by their focus on both traditional yogic teachings and modern application. She has gone on to complete further trainings in Pre & Postnatal Yoga, Baby Massage, Traditional Yoga Therapy, Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra and continues to fulfill her curiosity as a dedicated student of yoga.
Joanne is a Yoga Teacher, qualified in 3 different styles; Vinyasa, Hatha and Yin.
Before her introduction to Yoga, Joanne’s interest in natural health and wellbeing led her towards the study of various Holistic Therapies. The healing potential of reflexology, aromatherapy and massage was evident in the Clients she treated, however Joanne recognised the need for many of her Clients to also improve their physical health through exercise. Having practiced Pilates herself since her early 20’s, and knowing the benefits of this mindful form of exercise, Joanne trained to be a Pilates Instructor in 2007.
9 years later, feeling overwhelmed with work and a busy home life, Joanne discovered Yoga, just at the right time. Yoga aligned perfectly with her passion for a holistic approach to health and became an essential part of her daily routine, bringing peace and clarity to everyday life.
Joanne went on a Yoga retreat in Ibiza in 2017 and obtained certificates from the British Wheel of Yoga in Foundation Course 1 & 2 in 2019 & 2020. It felt like a natural progression to train to become a teacher and to share the beautiful practice with others. So, Joanne embarked on a multi-disciplined Teacher Training course in 2020 with Same Star Yoga in Dedham.
“Yoga to me is peace. The beautiful, physicality of a Vinyasa flow; the union of the breath in a Hatha practice; or the healing stillness of Yin, all bring about a sense of peace and connectedness with your true Self. It brings a feeling of clarity and focus into life, enabling us to live in truth, with love and compassion for ourselves and others. And the beautiful thing is Yoga is for everyone. The physical practice is just one part of it. The power of the breathing practices and the various meditation techniques and the beautiful moral and ethical codes of conduct can be practiced by all and with the most uplifting and positive effects on your life and those around you.”
Mousumi has been practicing yoga since childhood with her father. However, 11 years ago, with the inspiration of 2 teachers, Suganya and Rajiv Biswas, her perspective on yoga changed. Until beginning of last year, she practiced with various teachers, and she became a regular student of Astanga, taught by Teresa Kennard. Gradually a hobby transformed into yearning to gain knowledge about the impact of each poses to the mind and body and of the root of this magical exercise that changes our thinking and way of life.
Mousumi embarked on a 10 month teacher training journey with Faye and Samantha at the Same Star Yoga School. Under the guidance of Faye, she has enriched her vinyasa practice further. She has developed a new interest in Yin yoga taught by Samantha. She feels blessed to be an intermediary to spread these deep-rooted knowledges gained and promote peaceful way of living in the community.
Mousumi explores vinyasa, hatha and Yin-Yang yoga style on spiritual foundation, choreographed with mythological stories. Her yoga styles are blended with Pranayamas, meditations and chanting of shlokas, ensuring participation of anyone with or without experience in yoga.
“Practicing (abhyasa), selfless action (Karma) and duty (Dharma) with discipline (tapasah) and devotion (bhakti), is yoga”

“Yoga enables me to see the divinity within all other beings, and sweetly detach from the things in life that are no longer serving in happy & healthy ways. All we should ever expect of ourselves is to make sure that we are always moving towards our truth. Truth will carry you through the toughest of times & life will always fall into place if it is with the pursuit of truth in mind.”
