Hatha Yoga with Samantha
Unite body and mind with a Hatha Yoga Class, suitable for everyone from complete beginners to experienced yogis including injured warriors looking to return to the mat. Every week Samantha will guide a yoga practice themed with one of the five elements (earth, water, fire, wood, metal) and their associated energies.
Hatha yoga is the perfect way to begin and extend your yoga journey. We work with postures (asana) to increase strength, stamina & flexibility in the physical body, cleansing practices (kriya) to cleanse the energy body, breathing techniques (pranayama) to balance the nervous system & hand gestures (mudras) to set intentionality and bring focus.
In the summer, Thursday’s Hatha Yoga Class will take place in the park where you can enjoy the fresh air while you practice yoga in the park.
Anyone who wants a recording of the class, if you cannot make the livestream, should book an online space and tick the recording box on the form. You will receive a link to the recording valid for 5 days 24 hours after the class.
Hatha yoga is the yoga of activity and includes asana, pranayama, mudras, bandhas & kriyas.
The ultimate goal in Hatha yoga is to achieve Samadhi – state of freedom from attachments, ego and the illusion of the material world.

Yoga stills the fluctuations of the mind
What to expect
Our Hatha yoga classes begin with a short meditation, an opportunity to step into the present moment and set an intention for your practice, before moving into sun salutations encouraging warming and opening throughout the body.
You will be gently guided through a series of postures, with stillness between each, encouraging curiosity to flower as we observe ourselves with compassion. At the end of practice we take a longer meditation relaxing into expanded awareness.

This class is suitable for complete beginners and injured warriors looking to return to the mat. We work with static poses and gentle movement using modifications and props to ensure we are working compassionately with what's happening for us today on the mat. We practice pranayama (breathing techniques) and meditation to find our bliss.
