Meditations on the Great Light of Consciousness
An hour in the week where Faye looks to assist you in developing a regular meditation space to sit with meaning.
Steeped in her studies of svatantra – the true freedom of consciousness, these sessions invite contemplation on the great light of consciousness and invite you to again and again return to the true home residing in the heart.
The basic outline of the sessions will be:
- 5 mins mobility
- 15 mins philosophical contemplation, options for journaling
- 10mins pranayama (breathing)
- 10mins mantra recitation
- 20mins meditation (this may begin with 5 minutes sitting and 15mins savasana)
Meditation has been an interesting journey.
Sometimes I have spent months deeply steeped in practice, other times it’s been a struggle to find the time, and always it’s the first thing to get thrown out when I’m busy when I know it should be my priority.
So with this practice I hope to create a samskara (a groove or imprint) that assists the practitioner in recognising the benefits of regularly sitting in the great light of consciousness.
What to expect

What our students say
Kerry LindupI have thoroughly enjoyed all my experiences at Same Star…. You are both very warm and welcoming. I love practising yoga at your studio; with its relaxing and friendly ambiance. The music that Faye plays is uplifting during asana and I’m loving the savasana music (the prayer). Faye's cues are clear and make sense and her assists are really good.
Amanda RoperThank you for the class on Saturday. I haven't been to yoga for so long and I really enjoyed it. You made it really interesting too - beyond the poses.
Liza PatouxI really loved the pre-recorded online class that I bought and did it every day as my yoga practice for the five days I had access. I really liked being able to go deeper into a practice by repeating it. Faye’s cues and language used are so articulate they firmly plant their seeds in my memory.
Nicola CodlingAs always any and every experience with Same Star is wholesome, nurturing and leaves me with a sense of complete gratitude and love. Thank you for sharing such special gifts 💗💫💗
