Embark on a yoga practice with an informative teacher with 14yrs teaching experience. In this class you will be introduced to various groups of postures and the alignment principles with different intentions each week.
Breathing is the very thing that keep us alive, therefore why would we not want to enhance this aspect of ourselves, so this practice will also feature different pranayama (breathing) techniques each week, strengthening the cardiovascular and respiratory system and lifting the immune system.
Not being able to touch your toes is not a reason for not coming, it should be one of the many reasons you’d like to try it. There is no judgement here and we can guarantee you that you will feel equally energised and relaxed.
There are many negative and dismissive perceptions of men & yoga that have been passed down through the decades.
It seems ironic really that originally yoga was only ever practiced by men & there was a great prejudice by many against women practicing yoga, but guess what, women were strong enough to stand up to and say no to that prejudice.
Now guys it’s your turn, go against the grain and rise up against the b******t of “that’s a woman’s class and not a real workout”
Some of best powerlifters in the world are not in that position solely because they weight lift it’s because of their range of movement.
I had a male student who had been doing multiple cardio activities for years but only when taking up a dedicated pranayama (breathing) practice was he able to sprint up the escalator on the tube and not be out of breath.
I had another student who completely eradicated their back pain and another discover a nights sleep he didn’t think was possible, so…
I’m not saying that you should substitute your beloved practice (whatever that is) what I am saying is that yoga will greatly enhance what ever you do, it will also greatly enhance whatever work you do whether that be sitting on a chair or in a car for 8hrs a day or repetitive strenuous manual work.
Ingrained postural patterns can cause shortness in some muscles, over-lengthening of others & create imbalance and instability to the body. Yoga can reverse these effects that leave you feeling like a prisoner in the body.
Surely that is the path of the warrior? Someone who wants to take control of the vehicle that carries them through their life and surely a warrior would not be perturbed by a few ridiculous comments?
I taught mens yoga in Colchester years back and it was the busiest class on the timetable. I’d love to see that happen again.

You will be lead through the fundamentals of Yoga. Each week a series of postures and their alignment principles, you will also be introduced to certain breathing techniques whilst mobilising, stretching and strengthening your body. Expect to leave feeling energised but also relaxed.

Especially aimed at Complete Beginners & Beginners with less than two years of practice, however progressions can be given to those with a little more experience if necessary.

But Same Star managed to create opportunities for us to continue online, bringing in brand new technology, as well as adapting group size and location changes (retreat), to ensure we could still continue with our training. It's a nice haven away from the frantic outside world! All of the teachers create a really supportive environment where you feel confident to try new things or rest if your practise isn't quite at that level yet. I like to feel challenged physically and see progression week-to-week. I always enjoy the relaxation at the end of the class.
