Yin Yoga & Meditation with Samantha
Sink into a yin class focussed on releasing all your stresses and balancing your energy at the mid point in your week. In this class we also learn how to practice meditation together. Leave the class feeling restored and replenished, with renewed vitality and a calm, still mind.
Yin Yoga uses long, passive holds to work on the deep, dense connective tissues of the body – the fascia, tendons, ligaments and cartilage – which are difficult to energise and open. This means that it is great for easing your everyday aches and pains and we recommend it particularly for easing back pain.
Yin yoga invites us to be emotionally adventurous, truly being with what is and gives us the time and space to practice finding comfort within discomfort. Bringing yin energy into our lives balances and supports our yang (active) yoga practice and challenges us to dig deeper, unwrapping the layers until our innermost self, our Buddha nature, is revealed.
Come and join me on the mat where you can luxuriate in the compassionate loving kindness that is yin yoga. Step into a beautiful nurturing space where you can broaden and enrich your yoga practice and truly find your bliss.
What to expect
Long supported holds in seated and reclined postures. There will be plenty of guidance on how to find an appropriate place to rest in each pose and how to use yoga props to support you.
Expect to experience a deeper sense of relaxation and letting go than you may have experienced in other yoga classes, with special attention given to subtle sensations and energetic feedback.
You will be introduced to simple meditation techniques that Samantha uses in her own practice. There will be time for you to ask questions and explore anything you wish to discuss.
What to bring to class
Yoga mat, yoga bricks and/or blocks, a bolster, blankets, cushions.

What our students say
Brenda CoxI loved the class recording of Sam's class last week. It was easy to follow and the technical side of using it was easy too. I would recommend it to anyone missing your lovely classes.
Jo MurphyI enjoyed the yoga practice very much, a friend had recommended Same Star and I have been following your wonderful advent calendar so wanted to come to a class. Unfortunately, timings, travel distance and cost mean that I won't be a regular attendee, but it was a joy to connect with you, Samantha's knowledge is inspiring.
Anonymous 7The space has a calm, lovely vibe and it's fantastic that it is dedicated to yoga. I really appreciate the invitations offered by Samantha to stretch my boundaries and my practice is developing.
Anonymous 5Its a very welcoming space, it's easily accessible and has a lovely feel. I feel held and safe to be myself in the space. I love the variety of classes and particularly value learning yoga as a 'whole'...the philosophy, pranayama, meditation, chanting etc, as well as the asana practice. I also value the commitment and kindness of the teachers. Just to say thank you for all being you. I love Same Star Yoga and will continue to support in any way I can.
Anonymous 4Samantha is a kind patient teacher who welcomes you.
